Up til now

We've only done a little preliminary work so far due to some other priorities (as reflected in our planning). The logs covering that work were kept in a Microsoft Teams chat. I'll reproduce them here to have all the information in one place and we will continue to update here. Standups are sporadic to begin with, but we're now beginning work in earnest, so they ought to be more regular.

Jed Standup 19 Oct 21: I have tweaked the planning a little, adding milestone labels. I'm waiting on some feedback from Beula regarding it. I also couldn't assign time to the coding tasks as I don't yet know how much work the file coding is. In the next 24 hours I hope to finish the strategy phase - assigning tasks to times and people

UML Structure Chart First Draft

Jed Standup 21 Oct 21: I haven't had time to complete the strategy section (devoted time to Labs yesterday), and I have been working on SWOT analyses as part of the research phase. I expect to complete strategy - full dates for dev goals in the plan, assumptions - over the weekend. In the next 24 hours I plan to complete 3 more SWOT analyses.

Jed Standup 28 Oct 21: I since the last meeting I completed 3 more SWOT analyses, developed three key assumptions (seen below) about our needs.

Assumptions:

Our audience will include people with low technological competence.

Our audience will want a clear, simple, professional system.

Security of information will be essential.

I have not assigned dates to dev elements of the project yet - we should carve these up together once Caitlin's in I think. The next step is to work on the design - come up with a simple stylesheet for how we can make a console app look good.
